Banned IP Addresses

Postby Obsidian » Sun Oct 21, 2007 8:22 am

A few weeks ago I emailed you about receiving the 'you are banned!' message on the Omni forums, Art.

Since I emailed you it's happened pretty regularly so I decided to start keeping track of the IP addresses. Since I'm (still!) on Dial-up, my IP changes every new connection.

Here's my little list =)

Server IP: 144.130.49.232 Client IP: 58.163.137.19
Server IP: 144.130.49.230 Client IP: 58.163.137.24
Server IP: 144.130.49.232 Client IP: 58.163.136.142
Server IP: 144.130.49.232 Client IP: 58.163.136.156
Server IP: 144.130.49.238 Client IP: 58.163.140.238
Server Ip: 144.130.49.234 Client IP: 58.163.139.223
Server IP: 144.130.49.232 Client IP: 58.163.141.57
Server IP: 144.130.49.232 Client IP: 58.163.137.218
Server IP: 144.130.49.230 Client IP: 58.163.138.63
Server IP: 144.130.49.299 Client IP: 58.163.136.236

I'm not sure of the spread that's over, a few weeks tops. We can see a bit of a pattern emerging methinks. Anyways, hopefully it might help you look into the problem or... I dunno =)

I'm curious as to whether anyone else has had this problem at all?

The server IP shouldn't change, meaning, I have a static IP, so I don't know what that is on your side. My IP is 72.76.44.138.

I HAVE banned the entire Class A address section of 58.*.*.* . I was getting a bunch of hacking attempts and when I did a network look up, it said that all 58.* were in russia which is where most of my hack attempts come from, so I banned the country.

So my question is, why do you have that Class A address?

By Server IP, I took it mean the IP address of my ISP. I don't know why it would change though.

As for how come I have a Class A address, I have absolutely no idea. It seems a litte bit strange to me =/

A normal, working IP address for me is like, 149.135.113.83. How odd. Unfortunately, there's no chance of me getting broadband here because the copper wiring to our house was split. It's like.. Paired gains or something. I dunno, the people I was asking about it had weird accents.

Straanngee. Meeh =) I usually dial a blocked IP like, every two days or something. I can handle that. Thanks for the info =)
