*nod* Various forms of epilepsy can result in all sorts of bizarre things.

One form I read about can cause extreme sensory stimulation ie. reproducing smells, sounds, visuals, etc. and has been linked to multiple people claiming to have 'visions'

Even saw an episode of Law & Order in which a woman had it and her husband was conning her and others into believeing she was a psychic and that she could 'teach' this gift (for money of course).
